The Holdover

“The Holdover” is a fun and raunchy short film that parodies the classic holiday movie “The Holdovers.” Set in the empty environment of a college fraternity house, the film follows Sean Hamill, a laid-back fraternity brother who finds himself the sole occupant of the house during the holiday break. Initially looking forward to a quiet, carefree week of lounging, Sean’s boredom soon gets the better of him.

Soon tired of playing football and pickleball by himself, he starts binge-watching erotic videos. As the tedious afternoon unfolds, what starts as a simple, naughty time-killer spirals into nonstop orgasms.

As he turns his bed into a trampoline, this short film blends comedic elements with a nostalgic nod to the over-the-top antics of classic teen comedies.

Drawing inspiration from the work of Tom of Finland, the images exude a sense of cheeky camaraderie and playful sensuality – the exaggerated masculinity of the characters and poses adding to the tongue-in-cheek nature (no pun intended). “Redneck Mountain” offers a...

‘Titane’ is a blast.

TITANE is a blast. From the opening scene it just says: here's what I think of your sentimentality. Euro-cinema doing what it has always done best: being high fashion, provocative, and wildly innovative -- The Neon Demon, Irreversible, Enter the Void. A genre mash-up,...

‘Leviathan,’ big-canvas Russian epic.

‘Leviathan,’ big-canvas Russian epic.

If "Russian masterpiece" were a style, LEVIATHAN was filmed in it. Karamazov-like bravado and religious parables plus a nonstop flow of vodka. Unsubtle visual political symbolism (the Putin state as rotting Hobbsian whale’s carcass), this one has racked up more 10...

‘Dunkirk’: WWII fought by male models?

‘Dunkirk’: WWII fought by male models?

I did not realize until seeing DUNKIRK that WWII was fought entirely by male models from the Abercrombie & Fitch catalogue. Nor that its commanders (like Kenneth Branagh) mostly stood around posing with binoculars, mouthing pieties through clenched jaws. Nor that...
